Armature plate: the repeller, the fake friend of an electromagnetic locking !

Armature plate: the repeller, the fake friend of an electromagnetic locking !

One of the guarantees of a healthy electromagnetic locking is the immaculate state of its armature plate. Each obstacle, each deformation, each addition or accessory, apparent or not, leads to a significant deterioration of the effectiveness of the entire locking system.

Without being a specialist in electromagnetic lockings, rely on this simple tip: Look at the armature plate. Is there nothing to see ? Just a rectangular parallelepiped drilled in its center allowing its mounting to the door? You have in your hands a quality electromagnetic locking!

Indeed, the mechanical repeller was invented by manufacturers of low-cost electromagnetic lockings with the sole aim to counter the dangerous problem of residual magnetism.

QUICK REMINDERS:

The residual magnetism is the result of an electromagnet becoming a permanent magnet and therefore no longer unlocks completely. This phenomenon occurs when the electromagnet locking is built with poor quality steel.

The mechanical repeller is a small patch stuck directly on the armature plate by a combination of springs and clips, which helps to separate the electromagnet from its armature plate when unlocking.

On the high-end electromagnets, there is no residual magnetism, so as a consequence it is useless to add this gadget. This mechanical repeller wears out until it no longer works, hence the legal guarantee of 2 years and not a day more.

If there is no repeller, there is no wear and tear and the armature plate is guaranteed for life! This is the guarantee HQMAG offers, eyes closed, on its armature plates.

*Having a hole in the armature plate, disturbs the balance of the magnetic field, and a reduction in the holding force and therefore in the security offered by the electromagnetic locking. Without a repeller, the armature plate is intact and offers its entire surface to guarantee the 100% holding force of the electromagnetic locking.
